A moderate 3.1 earthquake hit Portland at 6:15 in the early morning hour Monday, as reported by the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.
The quake was about 12 miles below the surface.There were 911 dispatchers that reported calls but there were no reports of damages. Here is what people had to say about the quake:
I’m here in Salmon Creek (Vancouver) and I was wide awake at 6:15,” said viewer Mary Lockhart, “The knick knacks on my dresser shook pretty darn good. I’ve been through earthquakes before and knew we’d just had one.”
“It was just a quick jolt, just me and a co-worker in Tanasbourne office,” said Brian Oliver, “All our monitors shook for a second and we felt the little jolt.”
“I was sitting in my living room,” said Jackie Edmonds, who lives north of Hazel Dell. “My husband was in the kitchen. It was so quick I just had enough time to shout to him, ‘earthquake!’ and it was over.” –kgw.com

Mount Kilauea is now an active volcano that is spewing out lava, and recently two daredevil photographers took photos in 130+ degree water to snap photo’s of the volcano. They don’t recommend anyone else do the same thing, however, that is the only way they could get such high quality images.
Nasa Captures A Large Cme Blast
As of late the sun has given us awesome displays, just recently Nasa captured a large coronal mass ejection from the sun which you can click here to watch the video. The current cycle that the sun is in will peak in 2013, and the recent ejection is not set to hit earth at all according to NASA.
There is a chance that this most recent C.M.E blast could have an effect on satellites, no end of the world scenario is expected.
Residents in Bayou Corne are looking to be reimbursed because of a recent evacuation that took place in Louisiana. Here are a few comments from residents who feel as if they have been robbed:
“I think any time you take something of mine, you need to reimburse me some way,” said Brown, who retired as a manager in the landfill business.
“Texas Brine has taken from me my peaceful pleasure of utilizing my retirement years. I worked several years to get that place like I have it now, and it has been taken away from me through no fault mine and no fault of God.
“This has been a tragedy that was caused by Texas Brine, and they should have to make it right for what they have done.”
